Artemis Emslie

CEO & PRESIDENT

With 25 years of experience in both the workers’ compensation and group health industries, Artemis Emslie brings a multi-dimensional perspective to the complex issues facing pharmacy benefit management (PBM) clients.

As the former CEO of myMatrixx, Artemis led the strategic growth of the company from a regional PBM focused on small to medium-sized clients to an industry leader with a national client base. Artemis was also the founder ProspeRx Solutions, an auditing firm for workers’ compensation insurance providers where she provided pharmacy program review, RFP management, vendor management and negotiation, and consulting services to several blue-chip clients.

Artemis founded and currently serves on the executive board of the Alliance of Women in Workers’ Compensation, a think tank committed to sharing ideas and mentoring tomorrow’s industry leaders. She is also serving on the board of directors for Paradigm Outcomes and Ametros as well as on the advisory boards for the Committee for Economic Development (Washington, D.C.), Business Insurance magazine, Kids’ Chance, WorkCompCentral’s Comp Laude Awards, and the American Heart Association Circle of Red.

Dr. Jennifer Dragoun

MEDICAL DIRECTOR

Jennifer began her career as a family physician, eventually progressing into a variety of managed care roles including Chief Medical Officer for a workers’ compensation company.

She built and managed pharmacy programs for workers’ comp as well as large group health and government programs. She was a critical component of the executive team that built and sold a new pharmacy benefit management company under Independence Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Today, she applies her unique skillset to workers’ compensation, developing and implementing industry-leading clinical programs aimed at improving outcomes, reducing costs, and providing world-class service through Cadence Rx. Leading a dedicated team of clinicians and data analysts, she has played an instrumental role in creating the clinical functions through which the Cadence Rx platform manages care for our injured workers.

Jennifer moved more than 1,000 miles to help launch Cadence Rx – from Pennsylvania to Florida. She really missed the fall leaves and the snow (well, some of it anyway).

Timothy Howlin

CHIEF SALES & MARKETING OFFICER

Timothy Howlin joined Cadence Rx in May 2021 as the Chief Sales & Marketing Officer. Tim is part of the company’s leadership team and is responsible for leading the company’s sales and marketing vision, developing sales strategies to maximize market penetration, and navigating the company’s sales channels.

Prior to joining Cadence Rx, Tim served as the CSO for Orchid Medical and managed all sales objectives from development, forecasting, planning and budgeting. where he increased revenue and introduced patient-centric products. Tim has over 25 years of experience in the workers’ compensation industry which includes extensive sales and management expertise. His focus has been on sustained growth and the creation of medical cost containment products with a patient-centric approach.

Tim holds a Bachelors in Business Administration from Molloy College in Rockville Center, New York as well as a Sales Growth Certificate from Cornell University. He also is President Emeritus of the New York Claims Association and currently sits on the Executive Board as Vice President. Tim also is a Board of Director with The American Society of Workers Compensation (AMCOMP).

Anthony Lentini

CHIEF INFORMATION & PRODUCT OFFICER

Anthony is a strategic leader and IT visionary in commercial health and workers’ compensation with 20+ years of experience in enterprise technology solutions. He possesses multilevel product knowledge, strong business acumen, and a diverse technology background. He has achieved proven success leading the execution of critical programs, strategic initiatives, and corporate objectives that elevate the Cadence Rx technology platform and shape our unique and ever-evolving product offerings.

Anthony has previously built two PBM platforms including that of myMatrixx, bringing with him to Cadence Rx the technological foundation and vision needed to launch Cadence Rx. Anthony subsequently hired a team of IT individuals experienced in workers’ compensation to form our technology division.

Through Anthony’s leadership, Cadence Rx is able to offer technological solutions within PBM that do not exist anywhere else. His extraordinary attention to detail and unwavering vision allow him to provide the very framework within which the Cadence Rx platform is able to disrupt, elevate, and innovate.

Chris Morgan

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

Chris is an experienced business leader with a tactical mind. In June of 2020, Chris joined the Executive Team of Cadence Rx as the Chief Financial Officer. His diverse background in finance encompasses his previous work with the CFO Alliance, Sticky Jewlery Inc., Captiveyes Group Inc. and Deloitte & Touche, LLP before coming to Cadence Rx. This focused areas of expertise allow for competitiveness and precision with regard to developing pricing strategies, performing cost-benefit analysis, spearheading fundraising efforts, and maintaining investor relationship. 

With over 15 years of experience from Big 4 Accounting to startups and in between, he has used his CPA and systems background to start businesses, lead established ones, and help guide others through board involvement. As of today, Chris serves on the boards for Sticky Jewelry Inc. and Captiveyes Group, Inc. In 2005 he graduated from Florida State University with a double major receiving a Bachelors of Science in Accounting and a Bachelors of Science in Finance. Chris’ integral role at Cadence Rx helps to maximize potential for expansion, create appropriate standards for goal-setting, build financial models, and leverage predictive analytics to create long-term strategies.

Scott Brener

SVP, GENERAL COUNSEL

Scott Brener has dedicated the past 25 years of his career to worker’s compensation, 15 of which have been specific to pharmacy benefit management.

Beginning in 1994, he began learning the intricacies of worker’s compensation at the regulatory level, helping to pass the 1995 Workers’ Compensation Reform Bill through the Minnesota legislature at the direction of then Governor Arne Carlson after learning that an uncompetitive workers’ comp system was driving essential businesses and jobs out of the state. Decades later, his efforts in the state of Minnesota still drive their now successful workers’ compensation system.

Today, Scott dedicates his expertise in workers’ compensation towards the PBM industry, helping to ensure understanding of and compliance with ever-changing government regulations and landmark court cases that affect injured workers. He brings with him to Cadence Rx the know-how and expertise to navigate a complicated and winding landscape to the benefit of case handlers, adjusters, clients, and injured workers alike.

Robin Kraemer

SVP, HUMAN RESOURCES & OPERATIONS

Robin is a Human Resources Executive with over 25 years of experience. She is a strategic business partner who executes results through times of start-up, growth and transformation. She aligns the HR strategy with business initiatives creating an engaged culture for employees to reach their full potential. Robin is a hands-on leader who has built her brand around being a thought leader and trusted advisor. Robin’s expertise has revolved around on the lifecycle of an employee.

Prior to joining Cadence Rx, Robin worked at myMatrixx as the SVP of Human Resources which was her entry point into the Workers’ Compensation PBM industry.  In her role, she was responsible for building a team to support the company’s rapid growth, and formulating initiatives. She was instrumental in the change management initiatives during the acquisition of myMatrixx to Express Scripts and stayed with Express Scripts for a period of time post acquisition.

Today, Robin develops and guides the Cadence Rx culture. She also serves on the Board of Directors for Dawning Family Services, an organization helping homeless families in the Tampa community. She has spent a considerable amount of time coaching and mentoring students, employees and executives with the goal of making a positive impact on their career. She earned her Bachelor’s degree at USF in Public Relations, and holds a certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

Emily Peak, PharmD

SVP, BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE & CLIENT STRATEGIES

Emily has devoted 7 years of her career to workers’ compensation, the last 3 being specific to PBM. After receiving her Doctorate in Pharmacy (PharmD) at the University of Florida, graduating in the spring of 2012. After graduation, Emily completed a post-graduate year 1 (PGY1) residency at Tampa General Hospital, graduating from the program in the Summer of 2013.

Transitioning from residency, Emily received an opportunity to work as a Clinical Pharmacist at PMSI (now Optum Workers’ Compensation), writing Medication Reviews and Drug Testing Result Reviews to support the organization’s clinical programs. In 2016, Emily transitioned into a new role as a Clinical Pharmacist Liaison, working closely with Account Management, Reporting, and Operational teams to provide the best solutions and services to clients. During her time as a Liaison, Emily found herself often scrutinizing client data, looking for opportunities to evaluate the customer’s programs, provide insights and recommendations, and move ultimately help move the customer’s programs forward. As a result of being in the Liaison role, Emily worked closely with the Optum Enterprise Reporting and Analytics team, which recruited her into a role within the broader Optum organization. Emily became a Director of Pharmacy Reporting in 2017, going on to lead a team of 17 analysts, both domestic and international, specializing in solutioning innovative reporting products to meet the needs of the organization and its customers.

Most recently, Emily took the opportunity to join the CadenceRx team as SVP of Business Intelligence and is thoroughly enjoying the challenges of building a new company (and reporting solutions) from the ground up.
